Neal and Amie have started, shaped, and reformed lives and movements over their more than 20 years of marriage. They flipped tables, tackled turmoil, and crossed bridges to see people and organizations experience true transformation.
Their three children Bradlie, Kaden, and Quincie were all born by the time Amie was 22 years old and have walked the road, and overcome obstacles, with them. Neal and Amie lead a “Family On Mission” with the goal of helping people find God’s calling for their lives. Their life mantra is...

A place for families, couples and out of town guests to enjoy their time overlooking the rapids of the kern, and the lights of the little town of Kernville.

Neal and Amie Preston, 4th generation locals serve the community in a number of different ways. They have committed their lives to helping people find their call, and make life count. THE JAMES COTTAGE
LODGING | A piece of history
The James Cottage was transplanted to this location from Old Kernville in the 1950s, where the lake now resides. This home has sentimental value to our family because of its history and heritage. We restored this historic Kernville house in 2015 while living in a motor home with our three children. The James Cottege was built by our great-great grandpa, Billy James, in the 1920's. Billy James was the founder of James Store, now Sierra Gateway Market, that is owned by our father Mark Preston and brother Cody Preston. We decided it is important to share our special story with visitors to our beloved little town. We truly hope you enjoy your stay in this special "little" place as much as we have.
